Laura I came into this world 3 weeks early screaming at the top of my lungs! When I could stand, I added shaking my crib while screaming, always with a smile. (Mom said I was rehearsing). My school years consisted of talent shows, playing guitar, select choral competitions, and performing in a trio around the Capital District. I also trained in reading and writing music and took voice lessons. (My choice…rock and roll). In 1980, I was the lead singer for “Raven” a top 40 Rock and Roll band. We won the Battle of The Bands at J. B. Scotts in Albany. In 2004, I started The Headroom Band. I am a high energy entertainer and love to get the crowd singing, dancing, banging the cowbell or tambourine while having a great time! My passions in life are singing, dancing, physical training, shopping and sunning on the boat. The Headroom Band is a high energy fun band ready to rock you and your friends at your private party or favorite club. |

Lou I got my first guitar when I was 9 years old. I took professional guitar lessons for 3 years, self taught after that. I realized then that I loved Rock and Roll. Between 1971 - 1975 I played rhythm guitar and vocals for a rock band called “Shotgun”. My musical influences at the time were the Allman Brothers Band, Crosby, Stills,Nash and Young, Led Zepplin, Chicago, Hendrix etc. Then I was in a band called “Bad Sneakers” and again played rhythm guitar and did some vocals. We played the local circuit, Lark Tavern in Albany, Grog Shoppe in Schenectady, and others. In 1981 I drifted away and left the music scene for 25 years. I returned to it in 2004 when I joined Headroom. Classic rock covers at their best! I play an Ovation acoustic, Gibson SG standard and my favorite…my Fender Stratocaster Deluxe. My favorite musical artists are Led Zeppelin, Leonard Skynard, Crosby Stills and Nash, Dave Mathews, Allman Brothers, Joe Satriani, Stevie Ray Vaugn, George Thourgood, and I could go on and on. |

Jim I got my first snare drum for Christmas at age 10. I really got interested in playing when I got my first drum kit at age 16. I joined a Drum and Bugle corp and learned some drum beats and from there got my first serious kit and did the high school band thing. I have since played clubs with thirteen New York state based bands with the most recent including Fastlane, Size Matters, The Girl with Rant n Rave, Electric Lipstick and now Headroom. I provide a solid dependable rhythm and very much enjoy seeing people dance and have a good time, because that’s where its at for me! |

Mike When I was a kid I sold seeds to get money to buy a guitar. It was just a cardboard thing, but it got me hooked on making music. Growing up I played with a band from Long Island called Oral Groove (I actually played guitar with them). I played bass with a Long Island band called Brass Connection (we had a 4 piece horn section). I also played bass with a 3 man band called Major Tom and the All-Star Commandos. There may be some people that have heard of Oral Groove - we had a large following in the New York/Long Island area and we played in D.C. a few times. I studied music in high school and was a music major my first 2 years of college. I played guitar in my high school jazz ensemble, studied classical guitar for a while, and studied classical piano for a while as well. I like playing bass because I feel that along with the rest of the rhythm section that's what gets people to move and feel the music. |

Rich Given a guitar when I was 15, with no formal training, I learned from others and listening through the many "jams" of my youth. Influenced by Alex Lifeson, Al Dimeola, Steve Morse, Jeff Beck just to name a few. I have played locally with a jam band named "Binge" where we played large outdoor events. Cash, a local band which I played with for 2 years. A recent project called "Knucklehead" playing modern party rock hits, and now Headroom. I as well have filled in for many bands as a "guitar slinger" in which I will always add a positive sound to the band. I enjoy people getting into the show dancing and singing along keeping the party going and having a great time. |
